I was a “one gun is enough” guy for years. Then I took a course where the instructor broke down redundancy, mechanical failures, retention issues, injuries. There was no drama, just logic and that changed my thinking. I carry a backup now.

Sometimes a backup feels like a hassle but other times it’s what saves the day.

Once you consider failures and injuries, a backup stops sounding excessive and starts sounding practical.

My instructor put it pretty bluntly..."What's your plan when your primary gun is taken as evidence?" I didn't have a good answer then. Now my backup lives right in my pocket.
