Waited too long to start tracking

I shot right at dark. Gave it 30 minutes like you're supposed to. By then blood was hard to see with flashlights, I guess I should've marked the spot better. What's your strategy for tracking in the dark?

If it's dark out, I mark where I last saw blood with toilet paper. If I'm unsure, I back out. I also drop a pin on my phone where I took the shot. These small things help when it's hard to see.

Marking the last spot with tape or something shiny helped me a lot. It's so different tracking in the dark. Even a good blood trail can disappear under a flashlight.
