Neighbor wanted to hunt my land

We barely know each other and he just knocked on my door and asked. I had to tell him no and it felt awkward but it's my property. How do you handle people asking to hunt your land?

I would give permission to hunt my land ONLY if I knew, and trusted, the person, and they signed a notarized waiver that released me, or my heirs, from any injuries, death, etc. that occurred while they were hunting on my property
