Animal behavior that freaked you out

I watched a deer just stare at me for like ten straight minutes without moving. It wasn't scared, just locked eyes and stood there and it was actually unsettling...Nature is strange sometimes.

Yeah, that’s creepy. I’ve had animals do that too, just staring like they know something you don’t.

We had a very young baby fox, who must have gotten separated from his mother, decide the culvert to our driveway was a good place for him to take shelter and figure out what his plan was going to be. After a couple of weeks, and I have to admit we made sure he had water and food, he figured he had found his "happy place" and he began stalking and pouncing on bugs in our yard and driveway. After getting his belly good and full he would get in the sun in the driveway and and roll back and forth on his back scratching it and would just lay like that in the sun taking it all in. We had two chesapeake bay retrievers, unfortunately, now, we only have one, and they love to torment the opossums, the deer and the racoons and especially the coyotes, but they never bothered "John Henry" (that was the name we gave the baby fox). After about 4 weeks....he disappeared....we thought never to be seen again.
Anyway, sorry for the ramble but about 3-4 times a year, for some 3+ years now, he will pop up and just sit on the edge of our yard and stare/watch us....without any care for the 80lb chessie, who also ignores him. He will sit and watch for maybe 15 to 20 mins and then he is gone. We have also seen tracks/signs of him coming on our deck during the night. He is very healthy and well fed so he is not looking for food, it is like he just likes to visit, say "howdy" then he is off again.
There are also 3 teenage deer who like to see who can get the closest to me when my back is turned, then one will yelp when i turn around and they all take off....they will get about 5' -6' from me.

Right? It’s eerie how animals can just stare like they’re silently judging or assessing you.
