I don't safe-queen anything. Every gun I own gets shot. If it's too valuable or rare to shoot, I won't buy it. Guns sitting in safes as investments aren't guns, they're furniture. Use your tools or sell them to someone who will. Collector culture is fine, but not for me..
 
I agree... Every gun serves a purpose and is a "tool" much like a hammer, a screwdriver, a belt sander, etc...

My father openly displayed his 1977 Winchester model 70 .308 w/scope (his IBM retirement present!), and his beloved JC Higgins late 50's bolt action 16ga shotgun with a poly choke on the muzzle (wow, remember them?). He had a custom made, wooden 2-slot, gun rack made for him, and he screwed it into the wall above my parents bedroom headboard. :cool:
