When weather ruined my zeros

I zeroed my rifle in 70-degree weather, hunted in 20-degree cold and my point of impact shifted four inches. I didn't know temperature affects zero that much, so I missed my shot and learned an expensive lesson. I now verify zero in conditions similar to when I'll actually be using the gun..
 
That’s when you learn your zero has seasonal allergies and hates temperature changes.
 
Four inches!!

That wasn't the cold denser air, that was a bad scope mounting. (Unless you were sheep hunting across 500-yard ravines, of course.)
