I am trying to figure out where the big boys are hiding in Virginia. I keep hearing about the Shenandoah Valley and some southern counties producing giants, is anyone hunting areas that consistently kick out mature bucks?

I’ve seen some real wall-hangers come out of the Shenandoah Valley, no doubt. Southern ag-heavy counties kick out bruisers too, plenty of food and cover. Big bucks don’t advertise though… best advice is scout hard and be ready to sit longer than your coffee lasts

Ive seen some bruises come out of Suffolk, Franklin, and Isle of Wight. Ive seen a few over here on the Shore, but not like over there.

Sounds like the Shenandoah and those southern ag spots are worth the effort. I’ll put in the scouting time and patience, those old bucks definitely make you earn it.

Good to know, I’ve heard those areas produce some real tanks. I might have to scout around Suffolk or Franklin this season and see what kind of sign shows up
