I’m new to red-dot sights and trying to learn the basics, what are the real benefits over iron sights?

Basically, red dots help you find your target quicker and shoot more accurately, especially when it's dark. They're also good because you can keep both eyes open and see what's going on around you while you're shooting

Keeping both eyes open makes a huge difference for speed and awareness, you really do become faster and more accurate

Red dot sights are easy to use because your eye can be close or far away and they are faster to get on target than iron sights

Target focus is way faster and easier than focusing on the front sight
