I was at the range in NoVA with my brother and my 12ga Silver Reserve quit firing after just a few shells. I'd rather try some DIY checks before paying a shop since I've already put too much into this gun. Has anyone here torn one down and found a common issue that can be fixed at home?

The first time my old Mossberg acted up, I figured it was toast. Turns out, a little gunk in the firing pin channel was the culprit. A toothbrush and some elbow grease fixed it right up for free, give that a shot.

I had a similar problem with a budget Turkish shotgun once. It turns out the firing pin spring was bad. Luckily, new springs didn't cost much and they were easy to replace. I'd check those springs first and clean out the firing pin area real good

My Silver Reserve jammed up at a range in NoVA with my brother. I tapped it, cleaned the firing pins, and got it working again
