Hunting boots

Hunting in Virginia has taught me that the right boots make all the difference. Between muddy fields, rocky ridges and thick brush, I’ve learned to balance waterproofing, support, and traction. A stiff boot for steep climbs can be a lifesaver but too heavy and your feet fatigue fast. After trial and error, I’ve found a setup that keeps me comfortable and agile all season. What boots do you swear by for Virginia terrain?

I stick with uninsulated waterproof leather boots, solid ankle support and good tread for those rocky Virginia ridges. Break them in early, keep them oiled and they’ll treat your feet right all season.

I run Danner Pronghorns, waterproof, comfy, and just stiff enough for rocky climbs. Virginia mud can eat boots alive, so keep em clean and dry after every hunt

Nothing beats well-oiled leather. I’ve had mine longer than my truck. Break them in slow and they’ll never let you down

I grab mid-tier Irish Setters...it is not fancy, but they grip, breathe and last a few seasons if you take care of them

Go lightweight Gore-Tex with solid lugs, you’ll thank yourself halfway up a Blue Ridge slope when your feet aren’t screaming
