Hit up one of the local lakes yesterday, just me and my buddy. Targeted bass since the weather was nice and warm, around the mid-70s. Water was pretty clear but had some algae near the shore. We used a mix of soft plastics and crankbaits. First few hours were slow — I missed a couple bites, and my buddy couldn't get them to take his buzzbait. Finally, around midday, I landed a decent 3-pounder on a watermelon red worm. Felt good after the slow start! We packed it in after a few hours. How are the fish biting in your area?

Sounds like a good day, that 3-pounder makes it worth it. I've had slow mornings too, do you usually stick with soft plastics, or switch up more when it's tough?

Sometimes, starts can be slow, and that can be tough. The bass have been pretty active on my side, though, mostly hitting a chatterbait near the docks. I landed a nice four-pounder right before the rain
