They think it's weird I take time off to sit in the woods, theyb can't relate to why I'm excited about deer season. Do you work with people who get it or are you the odd one out?

Yep, coworkers give me blank stares too, apparently “sitting quietly in the woods” isn’t impressive.

Most of my coworkers can't understand why I use my vacation time for deer season. I used to try and explain it, but I don't anymore. Hunting is something you either get or you don't.

No need to try to explain it. Different strokes for different folks. Some people go to Comic-Con, or ski trips, some people travel to flea markets or Renaissance fairs, I don't understand why they do it, but I don't care. I do me.

Spot on! Everyone has their hobbies

Exactly... Decades ago back around 2009, 2010 or so, back when I was in the I.T. industry working the dreaded, God-awful, "Graveyard Shift"... I tried making conversation at 3:15am with a couple of, um, uh, "non caucasian" coworkers about deer hunting, compound bows, tree stands, etc... and they all sat there completely confused like I was speaking a foreign language!
