Suppressors for hunting

I am thinking about grabbing a suppressor for deer and hog hunting since Virginia allows them, but is it actually worth the tax stamp wait and money? I am just trying to justify the expense here

I run a can on my deer rifle in Virginia, and I’ll say it’s worth the wait. It cuts the boom down to more of a thump, it spooks deer less, and saves my ears. The downsides is that the tax stamp makes it feel like you’re buying a deer a college education

After 01 Jan 2026, the $200 tax goes away. Then maybe the suppressors come off the NFA. Thanks to POTUS Trump's BBB.
