The breakfast situation needs discussion

Who does big Christmas breakfast before presents and who just grabs whatever and gets to the gifts? My wife insists on making this elaborate meal first and the kids are basically vibrating with impatience. Seems cruel. What's the right move here? Food first or presents first?
