I’ve noticed over the years that some firearms barely lose value, while others drop the moment you walk out the door. Brand reputation and condition seem to matter a lot. A couple I sold held steady, others… not so much. In your experience, which guns hold their value best and which ones depreciate fast?

Classic brands like Colt, Ruger and certain limited editions tend to hold value, while mass-market or trendy guns can tank quickly.

Rarity is a big thing, like was the market saturated by them? Or, even if it is by a reputable company, it usually has to have really nice features on the stock, you know, premium looking. Brand does matter though. Weatherby or Browning is going to bring more than Savage, Ruger or Winchester (unless the Winchester is like pre-64 or something). You won't get value from a run of the mill gun with a high end scope though, not usually. Put a $1K scope on a $500 gun and you are not going to get $1500
