JIM, good question! Money makes you think twice. What's the farthest shot you've made on a deer that was quartering away?I know everyone says double lung or heart, but I'm curious what you guys actually aim for in the field. Broadside shots seem straightforward, but what about quartering away or steep angles? I feel like I second-guess myself way too much
I agree, aiming for the opposite leg on a broadside shot is a safe bet.For broadside, I aim for the spot that exits through the opposite leg, it guarantees both lungs and the heart. Quartering away, you gotta aim further back than you think, targeting the opposite front shoulder to drive the arrow right through the vitals...and for steeper angles, just aim higher to account for the drop
