What was your first handgun, and do you still have it? I'm curious about the memories tied to that first purchase. Share your thoughts, any funny stories, or even a pic of that old trusty sidearm!

Early 2000's. Smith & Wesson Model 5906. Still have it, as well as several other S&W's: 4566, 5903, 6904, 915, and 39. My father was a police officer in Pennsylvania and his second duty firearm was a S&W Model 59. Learned how to shoot with that gun. I guess I am hooked. LOL

At the young age of 15 (1961) my first handgun, purchased from a dealer, was a 1913, double-stamped 1920 Erfurt German Luger. I kept and shot this Luger for many, many years, finally trading it away for something else in the 1990's.

I bought my first handgun in 1977, a 4" Colt Trooper mk3 in 357 mag. I still own it and have added a 6" version and a 4" version in 22.

Colt Scout in 22. I was five when I first shot it. Dad told me it was mine but he'd keep it until I got older. Ended up in my room during the riots in Venezuela

1993. My first department was small. We had to buy our own weapons and duty belts. I bought a Ruger P85MkII, 9mm. I carried that for about 2 years. I sold it and bought a Taurus PT92c, then the Baby Eagle in 40 cal. Finally I bought the H&K USP Compact in 40 cal. I carried that until I left there in 2002. Now I carry a Glock on duty, and alternate between a S&W Shield 2.0 in 9mm or a FN 509T in 9mm for personal carry.
